Continental Electric’s Edmonton location is proud to announce that we’re now an SKF-certified shop.

SKF, the Canadian division of the international bearing manufacturer, has been a leading global technology provider since 1907. The company recently launched the SKF Certified Rebuilder program for electric motor repair, which was “…developed as a collaborative effort among eligible repair shops and SKF, […and] enhances the expertise of select pump repair shops worldwide,” says the company.

In order for a shop to earn SKF-certified status, employees must meet requirements in categories such as lubrication, electric motor testing, bearing mounting and dismounting, condition monitoring systems, and contamination control. Furthermore, shops are regularly audited to assure compliance to the program’s standards.

According to SKF, certified shops are equipped with the right know-how, the right resources, and the right approach. SKF Certified Rebuilders have access to the company’s unparalleled collection of parts, tools, and technical support, and are also kept up-to-date with the best practices and latest technologies.

Continental Electric’s Edmonton shop is one of four to have achieved SKF-certified status, joined by GMR Electric Motors of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Les Enterprises LM of Montreal, Quebec; and GPR Industries of Grand Prairie, Alberta.
